This free tourist map of Iceland shows important places in Iceland. There are not only natural places - mountains, seas or rivers, but political borders and important cities as well. There are some special marks for selected interesting places which you should consider when planning your holidays (subject to availability - eg. the best beaches, monuments, trekking, attractions). In Iceland there are much more of such places, of course and we are preparing more free maps which can provide more detailed information for your travel. Right now we recommend to visit for example these interesting places in Iceland: Island - it is all about the nature. Þingvellir National Park, it is the place where the North-American and European continental shelf plates collide, Vatnajökull National Park contains Iceland's highest mountain, Hvannadalshnúkur, largest glacier, Vatnajökull, and Europe's largest waterfall, Dettifoss. Snæfellsjökull National Park offers to nature lovers the beautiful ice-covered volcanic crater of the same name. And the most famous places? Blue Lagoon, a famous outdoor pool and health centre, Mývatn, a lake region with special volcanic craters throughout and Smajfall desert, Gullfoss - the Golden Falls, Geysir, a geothermal hot spot, Jökulsárlón, a wonderful glacial lagoon, Landmannalaugar - a favorite region of great natural beauty. Add Reykjavík, the capital of Iceland and you have a basic idea about this wonderful country.These are just selected interesting places in Iceland.
